Girls Who Code College & Career programs connect students interested in tech, building a supportive community that helps them persist and succeed in the field. These programs support students to persist in computer science through college, prepare them to enter the workforce, and ensure they have the means to access and succeed in entry-level job opportunities.

At Washburn, our college loop is designed to promote the success and celebrate achievements of women in computing. Our meetings focus on technical development, hearing from women in the tech world, and creating a greater community. We are open to everyone, and welcome allies at our meetings.

Lunch Buddies is a student-led organization that partners with Woolly Farms, an inclusive program supporting adults with special needs through community involvement, meaningful employment, and social connection. Once or twice a month, we meet in the Memorial Union cafeteria from 11:15 AM to 1:00 PM to share a meal, laugh, and build friendships with our Woolly friends who travel from Mariden to join us.

Beyond lunch, we host fun events like karaoke parties and game days each semester and are invited to the Woolly Farms Spring Gala, their biggest fundraiser of the year. If you want to make a difference, meet amazing people, and brighten someone’s day, Lunch Buddies is the perfect place for you!

To be an official member, a membership due of $10 (during the academic school year) must be paid to the current treasurer before t-shirts are ordered.
Section 4: If an individual pays their dues after the assigned due date and wants a WUBSU t-shirt, a membership fee of $15 must be paid. If we run out of t-shirts, the membership dues will go back to $10.
Official members have voting eligibility in General Assembly voting, officer board voting, and eligibility to attend sponsored leadership conferences.

The Washburn Mock Trial Team offers many benefits to its competing members. From lifelong skills such as analytical reasoning, research, communication and presentation, thinking on your feet, and teamwork to legal skills such as evidence basics, courtroom procedure, and legal theme and theory development. Not only does Mock Trial give its members skills to use in and outside of a courtroom, but there are scholarships available. Turning Point USA's mission is to educate students about the importance of fiscal responsibility, free markets, and constitutional rights through innovative campus activities and non-partisan, thought provoking discussion.
This is done with the use of provided academic resources, which include: weekly activism pamphlets, short videos, free-of-charge contributor speeches, and in-person support by TPUSA staff.

We are F1rst will help students navigate the college experience by clarifying university
terminology, creating mentorship opportunities, and providing tools that will facilitate the
understanding and use of campus resources. First-Generation college students are those who
neither of their parents/legal guardians completed a bachelor’s degree, regardless of siblings and
other relatives. whose parent(s) do not hold a 4-year college degree.
