Mission Membership Benefits

Mission
It shall be the purpose of H.A.L.O. to be a diverse group of college students
governed by its members. H.A.L.O. shall provide opportunities for Washburn
students to improve the community, culture and enhance the educational
opportunities for future students.

Membership Benefits
Membership is open to any enrolled Washburn students who:
i. Are aligned with the purpose of H.A.L.O.
ii. Supports the H.A.L.O. community
iii. Show support by attending multiple events

b. The organization will not discriminate based on age, color, gender, gender identity, disability, national origin, race, religion or sexual orientation
c. Privileges of membership
i. Attend meetings
ii. Hold an officer position
iii. Vote
iv. Attend socials and community service events

d. Dues and collection procedures
i. The fiscal year of the organization, shall be from March 31 to April 1st
ii. The amount of annual dues shall be $ 5.00 per year.

Desire to collectively work to embrace and promote a positive and professional image of the Black collegiate experience.
Striving to create independent, responsible, and positive young adults who are also financially, politically, and socially aware leaders. We are geared towards making a difference at Washburn University and the surrounding communities. WUBSU is open to any student who embraces diversity and is positive, innovative, and open minded.
Providing a voice for diverse populations on campus and in the community to promote acceptance for ourselves and those around us
Participating in volunteer and community service in order to give back to the Topeka community.
Promoting healthy interactions/ relationships and empowerment among ourselves and others in order to mold each member into strong leaders.

Membership Benefits
To be an official member, a membership due of $10 (during the academic school year) must be paid to the current treasurer before t-shirts are ordered.
Section 4: If an individual pays their dues after the assigned due date and wants a WUBSU t-shirt, a membership fee of $15 must be paid. If we run out of t-shirts, the membership dues will go back to $10.
Official members have voting eligibility in General Assembly voting, officer board voting, and eligibility to attend sponsored leadership conferences.
